History

Valentino, the man, left Paris when he was young in 1959 after completing his formal education to go to Rome, where he planned on launching his own fashion brand. He wanted to emulate what he saw and wore in Paris, which at the time was the epicentre of fashion. With the show on the road, Valentino came out with many different product ranges, but what was an instant success was his Red Valentino Dresses that had a dashingly flirty hint to them. So much so, the dresses themselves coined a name later known as "Valentino Red," which became the company's signature colour ever since.
